So here goes, my first post. Ever since I can remember, I have saved up everything from birthday money to graduation money. So why is saving without a goal so important? Well firstly, it opens up so many doors in being able to travel, purchase your first car, buying a house and giving you the flexibility to take unpaid time off work.
Now, I've spoken to many people about this some of which don't believe in the purpose of saving and just living for now which I guess is great in it's own way but in my mind what about the what if situations? Car breaking down, becoming unemployed, responsibilities in life never come to an end no matter how serious or unseriously you take life. So why make life harder, now I know not everyone is able to save and that so many of us live with barely enough or not enough money for the basics such as food or a place to live even. But surely we can and all have the ability to start making better life choices, I'm not saying it's easy and goes without sacrifices but surely anything worth-while doesn't come easy or without some effort being involved.
I also understand that we're all different people and what's important to one person might not be important to another but when it comes to money, yes it's not the source of all happiness but it's a necessity in todays world. Being brought up and shown the importance of saving from an early age; has I believe really set me up for life, sure I still have to work hard but who doesn't. All I'm trying to say is you're the only one who can help your situation and no matter how hard it may be to take the first step it will get easier.
